Not only are we bringing you great headline acts between now and the end of the year, but you also get two for the price of one with fabulous support acts for each gig too!

We're offering you a mixture of up-and-coming acts from the world of folk music and some local acts with a folky feel.

Geoff Pugh (top left). Road Not Taken (top right), Black Sheep Harmony (centre), Mike Weaver (bottom left) and Katherine Priddy (bottom right).

For our big December gig at Christ Church, the wonderful Katherine Priddy will be opening for Jim Moray.

Already announced for August's Greg Russell and Ciaran Algar gig is local singer-songwriter Geoff Pugh, while September will see newly-formed Downend-based trio Road Not Taken opening for India Electric Co. The programme is completed with the highly-respected Mike Weaver opening for The Jennifer Crook Trio in October, and local singing group Black Sheep Harmony supporting Jess Vincent in November.

Tickets for all of the gigs are on-sale now, and you can find out a little more about each of our support acts below.

Katherine Priddy

With a maturity that belies her tender age, Katherine Priddy is a dream weaver, a hypnotic storyteller and fragile performer that encapsulates the rich and often solemn side of artists gone by such Nick Drake & John Martyn whilst delivering each word with a genuine warmth and charm.

Geoff Pugh

Geoff is a singer-songwriter who has been around the acoustic music scene in Bristol for five years, playing in pubs and live music venues such as Mr Wolfs. He writes about things he encounters or experiences, good and bad (tragedy plus time equals comedy), and is very much a storyteller. His influences include Steve Knightley, Harry Chapin and Bruce Springsteen, and he draws on the folk, country and blues traditions.

Road Not Taken

Road Not Taken came together earlier this year when Ant Miles (yes, him!), Joe Brydon (yes, him!) and their singer friend Anita Dobson  met up to play some songs. Their gentle, melancholy style evolved naturally. Downend Folk Club will be their first public appearance, so be kind please!

Mike Weaver

Mike is a singer-songwriter from deepest Worcestershire. He is highly-regarded in the world of folk music, not only for his Armandaleg Music website but also for his thought-provoking songwriting and natural delivery.

Black Sheep Harmony

This Cadbury Heath-based chorus was formed in April 2012 by a group of people who wanted to sing unaccompanied close harmony in a happy, relaxed environment where music is king. Their watchword is continual improvement so that their singing stands us out from the crowd (or flock)!
